Laphroaig Càirdeas 2024 was created especially for loyal Friends of Laphroaig® and unites the most popular cask maturations of recent years in an exceptional edition. This 10-year-old single malt whisky combines the complexity of the 2019 Triple Wood bottling with the sweet intensity of the 2021 PX Cask edition. Bottled at 52.4% ABV, this limited-edition whisky is a powerful tribute to the diversity of cask maturation at Laphroaig.
 
The Cask Favourites edition undergoes a multi-stage maturation process in different cask types: After initial maturation in ex-bourbon barrels, it is finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, which impart its characteristic sweetness and fruitiness. This combination creates a perfect balance between the smoky, peaty aromas of Islay and the rich, sweet notes of Spanish sherry casks – a true feast for discerning whisky lovers.
 
Tasting Notes
 
Colour: Deep copper-gold with amber reflections, reflecting the intensive barrel aging.
 
Aroma: Robust peat smoke meets sweet PX sherry notes. Dried fruits like raisins and figs meld with vanilla, dark chocolate, and a hint of sea breeze. Underpinned by toasted oak and Christmas spices.
 
Palate: Intense smoke and ashy peat, accompanied by sweet sherry influence with caramelized plums, dates, and honey. Maritime salinity and spicy oak notes create a complex depth of flavor with hints of cinnamon and cloves.
 
Finish: Long and warming, with a perfect balance of peat, sweet dried fruit, and spicy oak. The smoky notes fade slowly, leaving a hint of dark chocolate and sea salt.
