This 23 year old Ben Nevis is distilled in 1995 and matured in a Sherry Butt cask before being bottled from the single cask #653 in 2019 by The Whisky Agency (TWA), with only 327 bottles produced. Moreover, cask #654 with the same vintage “Sound Wave” scores 91 marks at "whiksyfun.com".
Nose: Clean, direct sherry influence at first nosing, such as dark chocolate, dark fruit, toffee, raisin and miso, and then followed by light leather, cinnamon, honey and slightly smoky of roasted wood.
Palate: Oily and creamy. The sherry and the distillate are prefectly balanced. You can taste the sherry influence of dark chocolate, caffe latte, raisin, salted caramel and soft mix of tobaccos; and syrupy, overripe fruits, ginger juice, toasted hazelnut and liquorice by the distillate.
Finish: Long and complex. Fruit syrup, honey, dark chocolate, ginger, orange, waxy, balanced bitterness and a hint of smoky.
